Dr Chakraborty works at the Telecom Research Innovation Center (TRiC) in IBM Research - India Lab. My work needs an understanding of a large spectrum of (telecom) industry solutions, starting from core networking technologies and infrastructures (e.g. PSTN architectures, cellular architectures, digital convergence models) to business and support system processes. At TRiC, he primarily focuses on network and service convergence-oriented solutions and application enablers in telephony/IP Infrastructure.
His research broadly encompasses areas of converged networks, mobile and pervasive computing, sensor networks, and more recently social networks. At IBM Research -India, he has initiated research and collaborations in areas of SIP/Presence/VOIP, social networks and technologies for developing regions.
